Sorry We Are Such Blog Slackers // A Garden Party With One Of Our Favorite Bay Area Makers.

Ok Ok we are children of the 90's and may have watched the movie Slackers one too many times. And maybe our lack  of attention to the blog may make us look like we are living up to our generation, but we promise, we are still here and still busting our butts.

After a somewhat crazy few months the BellJar San Francisco location was finally closed. It was bitter sweet. San Francisco was our first love, but operating under the current economics in SF had begun to feel way too challenging and we really just wanted to focus on our new life and new store down her in sunny LA.

So that's what we've been doing. Building our business in LA. Revamping and focusing on our website! Doesn't it look pretty?? And you know, just being a small business.

Things are going great. We are settled in and very happy. But of course we miss the bay. So when we received an invite to a lunch under the Orchards with one of our favorite bay area makers, The Wilderness Workshop, how could we not return to our home and spend the day in Bolinas with friends old and new.

I, Sasha Darling, Grew up in Bolinas and it remains to this day one of my favorite places on earth, so I'm so happy that friends and peers are moving there and that I have great excuses to return. Even though I'm betraying my hometown even discussing it. (read linked article above)

Thayer, the genius behind The Wilderness Workshop is such a creative force that I had no doubt that this party would be a perfect day. She did not let us down. Shibori died napkins, actual plate-ware and glasses. A big long concession of locally made redwood picnic tables, and the most amazing homemade spread. The sun parted the fog just in time for guests to arrive and we had a beautiful day.

Of course Thayer is also an amazing photographer so I couldn't resist posting some of her pictures for y'all.
